PIONEERING CAMPOUT

To hone our scout skills, we scheduled a campout November 2 - November 4, 2001 to work on Pioneering Projects -- principally the building of a monkey bridge.  November weather in Michigan can be fickle but it cooperated nicely.  Daytime temps rose into the high 50's and nighttime lows stayed in the 30's, with hardly a cloud in the sky, as these pictures attest.

The final bridge had a span of 39 feet, support to support along the ground, and the foot rope averaged about 3 1/2 feet above ground.

This was the first activity of it's kind for the troop in quite some time, and a resounding success!!
