There is truly nothing else in Scouting that is quite like this experience.

Scouts spend the week on Mackinac Island, living in a special Scout Barracks constructed in the 1930's behind the fort, spending the day as Fort Guides, and as honor guard for the flags at most of the important island sites.

Yes, with the week we have, you miss 4 days of school however most school districts are aware of the program and we've heard of no district that does not excuse absences in recognition of the strong educational opportunity that participation in this activity provides.

Mr. Hussar will be reprising his role as health officer with the 2008 contingent. 
Mr. Zimbler will be reprising his role as head cook for a fifth year with the 2008 contingent.
